SEAFDEC expands the establishment of online training courses

Several activities of SEAFDEC, especially the training sessions scheduled in 2020, were postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to carry on the essential activities, SEAFDEC Secretariat is taking advantage of the online platform in conducting trainings. In this connection, the SEAFDEC Inter-Departmental Teleconference Meeting on Online Training Course was organized on 5 May 2020. The Teleconference was attended by the SEAFDEC Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General, Department Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs, senior officials, and relevant officers from SEAFDEC Secretariat and Departments. The resource persons from SEAFDEC/AQD, composed of module specialists, course officer, training coordinator, and IT administrator, shared the experiences and lessons learned on the establishment of online training courses in AQD. The participants were able to understand the basics of online training courses, module development, training process as well as hardware, software, and other facility requirements. It is envisaged that the expansion of online training courses would contribute to the works of SEAFDEC notwithstanding the current situation and in the future.
