Workshop on Development of Statistics Database organized

The SEAFDEC Secretariat organized the “Workshop on Development of Statistics Database based on the Regional Framework for Fishery Statistics of Southeast Asia (2024 Edition)” from 13 to 14 June 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Workshop was attended by the SEAFDEC Deputy Secretary-General and information officers from the SEAFDEC Secretariat, database and information-related officers, researchers from the SEAFDEC Training Department, and a resource person from Kasetsart University. The Workshop focused on the discussion on structuring the statistical data provided by the ASEAN Member States (AMSs) into a database and constructing the tabulation of the new Statistics Database to maximize the usage by various groups of audiences. Additionally, the way forward for the preparation of the database was also discussed. Furthermore, the results of this Workshop will serve as a guide for the Fourth Regional Technical Consultation on Fishery Statistics and Information to be organized in August 2024.
